Hajj Steps

Ihram

Enter the state of Ihram from the Miqat. This involves making intention, wearing prescribed clothing, and reciting the Talbiyah.

Tawaf

Perform Tawaf al-Qudum upon arriving at Masjid al-Haram. Circulate the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction.

Sa’i

Perform Sa’i between the hills of Safa and Marwah seven times, commemorating Hajar’s search for water for her son Ismail.

Day of Arafah

Stand at Arafah on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah from noon until sunset. This is the most important part of Hajj.

Muzdalifah & Mina

Spend the night at Muzdalifah, then proceed to Mina to perform the Rami (stoning of the devil).

Sacrifice & Farewell Tawaf

Offer sacrifice, shave or trim hair, and perform the farewell Tawaf (Tawaf al-Wada) before leaving Mecca.
